💡 Key Insight
I believe that more than ever, people are buying from people and not from logos. That's why I truly recommend to founders to work on their personal brand, because usually you buy from someone that you trust, and to build trust, you have to show up.
A lot of founders underestimate the power of their personal brand to drive growth, humanize their company's brand, and create an emotional connection with their audience. LinkedIn is a friendly network where you'll feel support, unlike other more aggressive social platforms.

🔥 Tips from Margarita
Avoid the "random acts of marketing syndrome"
Many founders find themselves responsible for marketing without having a true strategy in place. They implement random initiatives that nobody measures or follows up on, executed by junior teams doing their best but lacking experience and strategic vision. This leads to "lots of activity with little impact".
Instead, Margarita recommends developing a strategic plan with clear positioning and targeted messaging. Focus on your minimum viable audience rather than trying to speak to everyone, which means connecting with no one. For startups selling to the US market, sharper positioning and differentiated messaging are essential to cut through the noise.
Master personal branding for business growth
Margarita's success in quickly landing clients after her layoff came largely from her consistent investment in personal branding. Her advice to those starting out: take the leap and don't be afraid of exposure. Define how you want to be perceived and what you want to be known for, then build content around themes aligned with your business.
For content creation, Margarita finds her best inspiration comes from daily conversations with clients, prospects, and her network. She recommends being authentic, you don't need to sound like everyone else or like an expert. Just own your voice and share what moves you. Start small, even once a week, and commit to showing up consistently.
Leverage content repurposing
Creating content takes considerable effort, so Margarita emphasizes the importance of content repurposing, an underutilized strategy she believes in strongly. She recommends defining 2-3 concepts you want to own, creating content around those concepts, and then transforming successful content into different formats: image posts, carousels, videos, infographics.
Don't be afraid to repeat your message. When you publish once, you're reaching perhaps 1% of your target audience, and that 1% might only grasp about 10% of what you're saying. If you want to own a concept, you need to repeat it consistently across multiple formats and platforms.
Manage your time and network intentionally
One of Margarita's key habits for success is consistently building and maintaining her network. She schedules 2-3 non-work-related meetings every week, conversations that bring value and inspiration without the expectation of making a sale. This practice helps her stay connected and often leads to unexpected opportunities.
For fractional executives, the freedom to manage your own time is one of the most rewarding aspects of the role. You don't need to ask permission to take time off or work from home, giving you more control over your personal life and the ability to be present for important moments with family.
